When First We Met (2)

About

The Painting - "When First we Met...."

This painting is an original watercolour on Bockingford Cold Pressed 450gsm paper, using professional Windsor & Newton Water Colour paint and the finest sable brushes. It took 131 hours of work and was completed in November 2023. The painting measures 76cm x 56cm and framed 106cm x 86cm.

The horse heads selected were from reference photos of royalty free images and each head was from a different reference, where the image itself was of different size and context. After reviewing many, many images, I selected these two in order to create a "boy meets girl"  type look & feel. The putting together of these images was my invention. I had to scale to match and to select a neutral background to enhance the overall effect.

I have supported the St.Catherine's Hospice for a number of years by doing pro-bono portraits and other work which has been auctioned with ALL funds raised going to the hospice.

The St.Catherine's "Tiger" raised £2,500 and was sold to an individual investor.

The "Remembrance Tree" raised £5,000 through the generous contributions of many. It hangs in the hospice lobby area.

This latest painting will be through an auction process, culminating in May 2025. Bids will be solicited through various promotional events, private viewings and internet and social media activity. All those interested in making a bid or seeking further information, should contact Duncan Ponikwer at stcathsgolf@gmail.com. He is managing the fundraising and auction process.

Thank you.
